A Guide To Song Lyric Pranks

If you know me, you know I love a good song lyric prank. When I'm looking for song lyrics, I would find random songs all for crushes. This is a guide to lyric pranks and some good songs for them!

Crushes

I started with this because it is the most popular category for song lyric pranks. Some do it for a fun laugh-others do it to see if their crush likes them back. And if they don't, they say it was a prank. You can also use this on one of your guy friends for an extra interesting reaction.

Some great songs for a crush prank:

2002 by Anne-Marie:  I love this song! But this song is ought to get some confusion. Especially if you've never kissed before, because the first lyric is, "I will always remember, the day you kissed my lips".

I Love You by Anders Lystell: I think the title explains itself. I have actually done this one before, just not on my crush. If you want to confess to your crush but are too afraid of rejection, try this and see if they like you back. If not, you can always say was a prank. Who's been on that boat before?πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

Just a Friend to you by Meghan Trainor: Such an underrated artist...it seems like everyone forgot about her after "Lips are Movin" and "All About That Bass" and "No". 😞 But anyways, another great idea for a crush. You've got to be careful though; if they have seen this song used before (which it is used a lot) they will see the prank coming.

Hey Stupid I Love You by JP Saxe: Okay, so you can probably already see everything wrong with this song. But hey! It's ought to get some good laughs.

Friends

Song lyric pranks on your friends are the very best! People just seem to focus on crushes though. So here are some great songs to do a prank on your friends!

Talk by Why Don't We:  This will definitely get your friends confused. Especially since it sounds like the are talking to a lover instead of a friend. You could always change those few words up a bit so your friends don't get the wrong idea.

Kindly Calm Me Down by Meghan Trainor: This one is pretty good. Your friends will be very confused by this sad, dramatic approach. Just make sure to tell them it's a prank afterwards!

Thumbs by Sabrina Carpenter: Another well known song, so be careful. This song may come off as random, which makes the reaction that much more funny!

Exes
Yes...probably the most savage version lyric pranks, especially if you too aren't on good terms.

Funny by Zedd and Jasmine Thompson: The perfect breakup song for a song lyric prank, especially if you are in this scenario. "Last time I checked, you're the one that left. Last words you said, that you couldn't care less...It's funny who you miss me more than you could ever love me..."

I Hope by Gabby Barret: Okay, this one might come a little strong. Kind of "I hope you fall of a cliff" vibes. But still really good for a lyric prank.

Sue Me by Sabrina Carpenter: I love this song for a lyric prank! Honestly, if you really feel this way, use this song and where that crown! πŸ‘‘

Boyfriends/Girlfriends
These songs are great for use on your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Meant to Be by Bebe Rexha feat. Georgia Line: This is a sweet song that I love. Not really a prank if you guys are already dating, but still sweet. Also doubles as a prank on your crush.

I Don't Like You by Grace VanderWaal: (Shout out to Simon Cowell!) Okay, I see all the reasons why you would not want to send that song to your boyfriend/girlfriend. But it is a very good prank, especially with that confusing turn. "I love you. But I don't like you..."

Rumors by R3HAB x Sofia Carson: They will definitely get confused on who is spreading "rumors!"

I hope these gave you some ideas on a song lyric prank!
